What is “Salix?” Salix is the Latin word for the genus of flowering plants commonly known as willow trees. Willow trees are deciduous trees known for their long, slender branches, narrow leaves, and graceful appearance. Willow trees are also known for their flexibility, with branches that can bend without breaking—a characteristic that has led to poetic associations with resilience and adaptability.
